Thankfully the WIFI coverage in the B&B in Cusco did not let me down and, spurred on by a fair amount of potent black coffee, the interview went well and I was offered the position. Its fair to say it is a weight off my shoulders and I (we) can now kick back and enjoy the rest of our break without having to think about work.
We decided to go out for a celebratory meal in Cusco at a lovely little place called Map Cafe. After two weeks of trying various local dishes, we couldn’t resist returning to what we love most – foie gras and filet steak! So predictable but so good. We also had our first drop of alcohol for two weeks (no, I’m not counting the Cicho on the Colca Canyon trip!) – an excellent Argentinean red. Needless to say it all went down very well in a picture-perfect courtyard setting.
We were joined by Tina, who was taking in the sites in Cusco on her own after her boyfriend Johann was bed-ridden with food poisoning. The restaurant even made me a surprise congratulory dessert, which I left for the chicas and their sweet teeth. I did think twice about asking for a celebratory cheese board!
Congrats for the Job !
